San Diego Padres infielder Logan Forsythe has been struggling with an ongoing case of plantar fasciitis. As a result Forsythe wound up being limited to five at-bats since September due to pain in his right foot. While Forsythe has been attempting to avoid surgery, he acknowledges that surgery would be “the only possibility” if he does not heal from a month of immobilization and rest. For now Forsythe has received cortisone shots and wears a protective boot to help his foot recover.
If you are suffering from plantar fasciitis, it is highly recommended to seek the care of a podiatrist, like Dr. Henry Slomowitz of New Jersey. Dr. Slomowitzwill examine your heel pain and determine if you have plantar fasciitis before providing further treatment options.

· Ultrasound-guided technique with steroid injections into the plantar fascia. This is from a relatively smaller new study but shown to be effective in most cases treated
· Conservative Measures- ice packs, stretching exercises, orthotic devices, physical therapy and/or anti-inflammatory medication
