Warts are the result of the human papilloma virus or HPV. They're both unsightly and a health issue, so turn to our specialist. At the practice of Henry Slomowitz, DPM, our Paterson warts treatment is effective and safe.

The way that warts develop is that they the HPV virus is able to find a path through skin that is broken, leading to an infection. Be very careful not to walk barefoot on any area that you are not sure is clean. You can wait and see if your warts go away, which does happen in some instances, but it's not worth taking the risk because they are contagious. You can spread them to other people, and just as alarming, you can spread it to other parts of your body. For example, if you touch your foot with your hand, you will probably transfer the virus to your hand. By the time you first see signs of warts, it is probably an indication that  you have already had the virus for a while. Over time, a wart will grow its own blood vessels, availing itself of a separate blood supply. Once that happens, it becomes more difficult to get rid of it. You may find that the warts are painful, but this isn't always so. You may have no discomfort, at least right now, but you could still benefit from our Paterson warts treatment. Upon examination, our podiatrist will discuss possible ways to address them based on various factors, including the size of them and how they are affecting you. If any of the warts are showing an unusual growth pattern or color, it may be a good idea to biopsy them.

Reach out to our office to schedule an examination and our Paterson warts treatment. It is best to be proactive.

Foot wounds can occur for various reasons, and underlying conditions can cause them to heal slowly, or not at all. At the office of Henry Slomowitz DPM, our foot doctor will make a determination about any injuries you have that are either not healing properly or that are too severe to heal on their own. That's the priority of our wound care Ridgewood.

It's an unfortunate fact that your feet can become injured very easily. Even in shoes or boots, they are vulnerable, but when you are wearing open-toed shoes, barefoot, or in socks, that situation is even more so. Among the types of wounds that are commonly sustained are cuts, scrapes, deeper abrasions, and ulceration. Some lead to a minimal loss of blood, while others do not. Except for serious bleeding or a laceration that is so large as to require stitches, the vast majority of such injuries can be addressed with simple attention. Just clean the wound, disinfect it, and dress it with a bandage to keep it safe from potential infection. There is no exact period of time during which it should heal, but if you are not noticing sufficient progress, it's a good idea to take advantage of our wound care Ridgewood. Some of the reasons why you may be having a problem are the effects of type 1 or type two diabetes, vascular problems, or poor circulation. You may also develop foot ulcers as a consequence of diabetes. We recommend that you check your feet regularly is you have any of the concerns mentioned above, and to be proactive about seeking out our wound care Ridgewood.

Closely monitor any foot wounds you have. And contact our office when you feel you need the professional assistance of our foot specialist. We will schedule you for an appointment in a timely manner.

Treating Ingrown Toenails in Ridgewood

Let’s be honest—no one’s getting prizes for surviving the discomfort of an ingrown toenail. Even though it isn’t known as the most crippling of foot conditions, you’d rather be done with it once and for all. Because you deserve to walk around without wincing. In which case, don’t hesitate for another second to reach out to Henry Slomowitz. He’ll treat you to top-notch Ridgewood foot care. So don’t wait any longer, reach out to him as soon as possible.

So what’s causing that an ingrown toenail? Leave that to the experts to determine. But, if you’re still curious about red flags, these are the one you’ll want to watch out for: redness around the toenail, swelling of the toe around the nail, pain and tenderness in the toe along one or both sides of the nail, and an infection of the tissue surround the toenail. If you’re experiencing in the toe, or if pus and redness is quickly spreading—don’t freak out—just hop into the nearest vehicle and head over to see a professional. Got diabetes? That’s another reason to take a proactive approach to your tissue issue. Largely because diabetes also affects the extremities. You might be wondering what even causes ingrown toenails. Fair enough. Any of the following are common contributors: wearing footwear that crowds toenails, cutting toenails too short (or not straight), having curved toenails, or injuring the toenail. As previously mentioned, it’s best not leaving any health issues to chance. So get that ingrown toenail taken care of. Visit Henry Slomowitz today for evaluation and first-rate Ridgewood foot care.

Scheduling an appointment with Henry Slomowitz doesn’t much hoop jumping. Shoot him a call or an e-mail—that’ll do. After that, you should be well on your way to finally treating yourself to Ridgewood foot care. Really couldn’t be easier.

Continuing to put pressure on a sprained ankle, without the care of a specialist like our foot doctor in Totowa NJ, can lead you to a situation that is far worse and will take considerably longer to heal. The correct action to take when you have an ankle sprain is to turn to us at the office of Henry Slomowitz DPM, for diagnosis and treatment.

Ankle sprains are one of the most common problems that can happen in or around your foot. However, what appear to be sprains may not always be.  Sprains affect ligaments, while muscle strains in the same area can produce similar discomfort. The same is true of a hairline fracture of the bone, which if not tended to in a timely manner by our foot doctor in Totowa NJ, can result in a full fracture, which will mean a completely different treatment approach, and quite possibly a more protracted recovery. It's a simple matter to consult with our foot doctor in Totowa NJ for a thorough examination and x-rays so that the diagnosis is 100% accurate. If you do have a sprain, and it is mild to moderate, the RICE method will often be the most effective. This stands for rest (staying off it), ice, compression (wrapping it), and elevation (having the ankle raised above head level for a period of time each day; typically two to three hours). Depending on the severity of your situation, you might require the assistance of crutches or a walker to ensure that you do not put pressure on the ankle. Only if there is a significant tear to the ligament would surgery be an option, so the good news is that non-invasive methods will be the correct method for most people.

Pick up the phone and call us when you think you have sprained your ankle. The more quickly you do, the better the odds that you will be back on your feet and free of pain quickly.
